  • Port Park

In 2010, the Port of Alicante was decked out in all its finery to inaugurate a new green zone in the city: the Port Park. Designed by landscape architect José Luis Romeu, it was initially proposed as a vegetation barrier with the purpose of reducing the impact of port activity on the city.

During the process of its creation it was reconverted into a green zone accessible and open to citizens, running at over 700 m long, with a surface area of around 26,000 m2 in the port area close to the San Gabriel neighbourhood.

During its construction, artificial hills over five metres high were created and over 100,000 cubic metres of earth were moved. Over 380 trees, 7,880 m2 of shrubs and ground cover, and 7,100 m2 of meadows were planted.

Currently, an extension of a further 20,837 m2 of port land is underway, which will extend up to the initial park, with a budget of 1,373,591.89 euros, which considers green areas, wide promenades and cycle lanes for citizens to use and enjoy.

  • Port Promenade

The port promenade is another of the port areas available to citizens. An excellent view of the boats of Alicante’s Marina and the Royal Regatta Club, which invites you to discover the city’s other zones, such as the El Mundo de los Niños children’s amusement park near Canalejas Park, or Noray café situated almost on top of the water. From the promenade, visitors can board the Kontiki boats to go to Tabarca Island or enjoy a pleasant walk up to Postiguet Beach.

From its benches, you can rest and relax as you enjoy the cooling sea breeze and watch the sailboats pass by, with the unbeatable light of its dawn and dusk.

  • Port Square

One of the most emblematic spaces of the city of Alicante and meeting point for thousands of visitors. This space, covering some 10,000 square metres, hosts numerous events and fairs throughout the year.

This is where the Town Hall Tourist Office is located, a point of information for travellers, and the Lounge-Bar Soho, where you can enjoy a delicious aperitif with views of the Marina.

From Port Square you can enjoy some magnificent views of Santa Bárbara Castle and the coastline, with the Casa Carbonell building, a French style construction dating from 1925 and the work of local architect Juan Vidal Ramos, which was commissioned by Enrique Carbonell Antolí, a textile businessman from Alcoy.

  • Quays 10 and 12

Spaces located on the extension of the east quay, with over 11,000 square metres available for sporting events, concerts or for the enjoyment of citizens.

On these quays you will find the Ocean Race facilities, offices and The Ocean Race Museum, which collects all the information on this regatta, known as “the around the world race”, created by the Royal Naval Sailing Association and held for the first time in 1973 from Portsmouth, England. Since 2011, the Port of Alicante is in charge of hosting its departure, from which some 40,000 nautical miles are travelled.

Quay 12 hosts concerts and cultural activities, which are very important for the city, such as the Port Gala, where the Bellesa del Foc and her Ladies of Honour are chosen.

  • Panoramis

This building, located at Quay 3 and inaugurated in 2002 as a shopping centre, has undergone several changes since its creation, although the most significant one took place recently, transforming it into an area combining work and leisure spaces.

The renovation of this port space, covering 25,000 m2, has turned its first floor into a co-working space, with 120 workstations, meeting rooms and an auditorium with capacity for 240 persons. On the ground floor there will be offices, a gastronomic area, a gym and a wellness centre.

The complex has, in addition to some amazing views of the city and Santa Bárbara Castle, a public car park for 500 vehicles.

  • Alicante Marina leisure area

Located between Port Square and Quays 10 and 12, you will find the Alicante Marina leisure area, a series of surrounding low buildings with a concentration of numerous premises offering a variety of gastronomic options, primarily Mediterranean cuisine, in addition to sailing-related shops and companies.

This zone is where the Mediterranean Casino has been located since 2009, covering over 3,500 m2 and dedicated to gambling and entertainment, with an extensive offering which includes the Mediterranean Casino Poker League and the Juegging Poker Series poker circuit. Further, indoors it has a restaurant and a buffet, along with an art exhibition area, where its prestigious artworks have been shown.

  • Paseo Volado

Another unrivalled place that the port has made available to citizens is the Paseo Volado. Built in 2008 for The Ocean Race regatta departure from Alicante, it is a raised 8-metre wide walkway extending 350 metres along the east quay and offering some unparalleled views of the port, the city and Alicante bay.

To stroll along this iconic area of the port at dawn or dusk is to discover an array of colours, unique in the city, which are produced by the sun, the sea and its awning characteristics inspired by the wings of an albatross. It is one of the most visited and loved places in the port and in the city.
